Development workshop for TTI staff

A three-day workshop was held for all TTI staff personnel on the 10th of February, 2010.

The workshop was organized by the Teaching & Learning Services committee as part of the TTI on going Staff Development.

Rev. ‘Etuate Manuofetoa, the Academic Dean, opened it since the Director, Rev. ‘Alifeleti ‘Atiola, was busy at the time. Around 12 staff members were present at the workshop.

Issues raised and discussed included; the new TTI structure and 2009 concerns such as the Student Evaluation. There was also a presentation on Effective Teacher in the Classroom by Meleane Tonga and Frenda Takau.

The highlight of the three-day workshop was the speeches given by Dr. ‘Ana Koloto on “Research Skills” and Rev. Dr. Siotame Havea on the” Counseling Role of Teachers in/outside the classroom” – The latter emphasized that “The role of a teacher is a calling from GOD”

TTI staff found the workshop helpful, encouraging and useful.
