Many of you have seen me on campus, in the Learning Center or were brave enough to come ask me for help with your assignments. Well, I thought I would take this time to formally introduce myself to you all and explain my role here at TTI.
I am a United States Peace Corps Volunteer and have been serving in Tungua, Ha’apai since December of 2008. Peace Corps Tonga has removed all volunteers from outer islands whose main means of transportation was the Pulupaki. It was very hard leaving the island. It was a priceless experience and a great opportunity in understanding the Tongan culture and language. Io, ‘oku ou poto lea faka-Tonga moe mahino lelei ‘uluanga faka-Tonga. =)
I am very happy and excited for the opportunity to be working here at TTI and with all of you. My main job will be working with Samiuela Fonua on proposals for the future growth and development of TTI. I will no longer be located in the office next to Fololita in the Learning Center. My new office will be one of the offices in the staff room. However, I will still be working closely with Fololita to improve the Learning Center and Student Learning Services to assist in your academic success. I am still a resource for all of you. Kataki, ‘oua ma! If you need help on assignments, proof-reading, citations, writing reports or anything else, academic related, please do not hesitate to come see me.
Fololita and I have been developing some improvements for the Student Learning Services starting next term. Keep your ears and eyes open for the new workshops and services available for next term. Our goal is to better assist you in your academic success while studying here at TTI and provide you with a solid foundation for continuing your education. If you have any suggestions, comments, concerns or questions about the Learning Center or services provided through the Student Learning Services please, come speak with Fololita or myself.

Enjoy your Easter Break and keep in mind the Learning Center will be open during the break: Monday thru Friday 9 am – 5 pm, starting Tuesday, April 6. Take advantage of this opportunity for all those assignments that are due when you return.
