Opening of SLC & Inauguration of new staff

The Honorable Minister of Education, Rev.Dr. Tevita Palefau officially opened TTI Learning Centre and the Inauguration of new staff on Monday 8 March 2010.

The new Learning Centre is situated at the old Library building. All TTI students and staff, and members of the TTI Advisory Board were present for the function. The project was funded by the TTI Alumni.

This is an exciting venture for TTI as the Centre can now provides professional development for students at undergraduate level.

The SLC Coordinator is Miss Fololita Takau.She has two assistance, who are Mrs. Fololini Leha’uli and Miss ‘Atu Pomana. 

SLC Staff can also help students to gain effective academic learning and performance skills, and offer advice if they have difficulties in their studies.SLC also offers individual consultations by appointment and skills development courses, as well as daily drop-in times.

New Staff

Four new staff was sworn in by the Hon. Minister of Education.

Mr. Manueli Baker, who was an ex-student of TTI, returned from New Zealand with an B.A in Computer Engineer from Manukau Institute Technology. He is now a lecturer in the School of Information Technology.

They are Mr. Fononga Lealiki who returned from New Zealand after being the Director of the Pacific Island Evangelical and Missionary Network. He is now the Assistant Manager of the Staff and Student Affairs at TTI. 

Mrs. ‘Akanesi Tatafu, who was a staff of TTI before she went for further studies and returned with an M.A.  in Entrepreneurship from the University of Otago.

Mr. Saimone Fakahua , who was an ex-student of TTI, returned from Suva (USP) with an M.A. in Commerce. Both are Lecturers in the School of Business.

It is truly a blessing for TTI to have four new staff who are highly skilled, competent and committed. 

The event was followed by refreshment at the Learning Centre.
