Program Entry Requirements

Certificate in Agriculture Level 4
  • Completion of the Tonga Form 6 Examination
  • Mature-age applicants without formal qualifications may be admitted if they can demonstrate a range of attributes such as:
    • Personal motivation
    • Maturity
    • Work experience or previous studies

This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Applicants are required to:
    • Provide a personal statement outlining their interest, motivation and reasons for selecting the course
    • Including details of educational and any employment background
Diploma in Agriculture Level 5

An applicant shall be eligible to be admitted to the Diploma in Agriculture Level 5:

  • Persons who have taken the Tonga National Form 7 Examination will be required to obtain:
      • A minimum aggregate of 200 marks in four subjects, with a minimum score of 50% each in English and the best 3 subjects
  • Persons who have taken the Tonga Form 6 Examination will be required to obtain:
      • ACHIEVED in English
      • MERIT or better in 3 other subjects
  • Passed the TTI Certificate in Agriculture Level 4
  • Mature Students:
      • A person may be admitted as a mature student to the Diploma programme if, in the opinion of the Board of Studies, they are considered likely to be able to complete the programme successfully
      • The decision of the Board of Studies shall consider the person’s academic background, the nature of their employment and experience
      • A mature applicant may be required to pass courses that the Board of Studies prescribes as a prerequisite for admission to the Diploma program
Bachelor in Agriculture Level 7

An applicant shall be eligible to be admitted to the Bachelor in Agriculture Level 7:

  • Passed the TTI Diploma in Agriculture Level 5
  • Mature Students:
      • A person may be admitted as a mature student to the Bachelor Diploma program if, in the opinion of the Board of Studies, they are considered likely to be able to complete the program successfully
      • The decision of the Board of Studies shall consider the person’s academic background, the nature of their employment and experience
